Exhibition of banners

ANISIPI presents two exhibitions of banners that illustrate the cultural and artistic heritage of the Abitibiwinni Nation.

The first exhibition highlights twelve (12) water-related objects originating from the region. The illustrations on the banners are accompanied by their names in the Anicinape language.

The second exhibition features six (6) artworks, each evoking one of the six seasons of the Algonquin calendar as imagined by Carlos Kistabish, a visual artist from the community of Pikogan.

These vivid and colorful banners are posted downtown Amos including the bridge.

These exhibitions reflect the key role that First Nation Peoples, namely the Abitibiwinni Nation, play in our society.
